I like the way the AMS enclosures perform where you just slide the drive into the back and screw it all together, but this works.
I didn't want it, but it comes with an adapter to give your technique an eSATA connector if your mobo didn't have 1 built in. That fan isn't TOO loud, I can hear it with the computer system off, but with the computer system on, it gets lost in the other noise. At least it feels good and snug, unlike some enclosure DIN kind connectors that like to come out if you move the enclosure around. I think the greatest reason for the fan is to cool the energy converter considering that the three-prong power cord just plugs into the back of the enclosure.
The unit doesn't use a energy brick, which could be a pro or a con based on how you look at it. Nice flat black color, has a fan for cooling, has eSATA and USB connection.
